# Commands

Every jadpo command, what it does and how to run it.

## [The jadpo command](/docs/the-jadpo-command.md)

You work with Jadpo through one command, `jadpo`, and a short list of subcommands.

| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
| [`jadpo new`](/docs/jadpo-new.md) | Start a project. |
| [`jadpo check`](/docs/jadpo-check.md) | Check the project for errors. |
| [`jadpo fmt`](/docs/jadpo-fmt.md) | Format source files. |
| [`jadpo test`](/docs/jadpo-test.md) | Run tests. |
| [`jadpo build`](/docs/jadpo-build.md) | Build the app to deploy. |
| [`jadpo dev`](/docs/jadpo-dev.md) | Run the app and reload on every save. |

## [Commands for looking into and changing code](/docs/commands-for-looking-into-and-changing-code.md)

These commands show you what your code does: its routes, the SQL its queries send, and what a prompt sends a model.

| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
| [`jadpo routes`](/docs/jadpo-routes.md) | List every route. |
| [`jadpo sql`](/docs/jadpo-sql.md) | Show the SQL a query or action sends. |
| [`jadpo ai`](/docs/jadpo-ai.md) | Show prompts, record, usage. |

## [Commands for the database, settings and translations](/docs/commands-for-the-database-settings-and-translations.md)

These commands change what sits beside your code: the database's migrations, your local settings, and the wording of your app in each language.

| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
| [`jadpo migrate`](/docs/jadpo-migrate.md) | Write and apply migrations. |
| [`jadpo seed`](/docs/jadpo-seed.md) | Fill the development database from a seed. |
| [`jadpo config`](/docs/jadpo-config.md) | Check and set local settings. |
| [`jadpo translations`](/docs/jadpo-translations.md) | Keep translations up to date. |

## [Commands for records, findings and review](/docs/commands-for-records-findings-and-review.md)

Some files in your project are records: files Jadpo writes for you to commit, such as the record of your public API, which a reviewer reads in a pull request (Review and records).

| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
| [`jadpo api`](/docs/jadpo-api.md) | Rewrite the API records. |
| [`jadpo records`](/docs/jadpo-records.md) | List and update the records. |
| [`jadpo acceptance`](/docs/jadpo-acceptance.md) | Draft a person's acceptance. |
| [`jadpo approval`](/docs/jadpo-approval.md) | Explain a change, decisions first. |
| [`jadpo declines`](/docs/jadpo-declines.md) | List or clear declines. |
| [`jadpo fix`](/docs/jadpo-fix.md) | Fix a standard type's finding. |
| [`jadpo suggest`](/docs/jadpo-suggest.md) | Hint where a standard type or operation fits. |

## [Commands for background work](/docs/commands-for-background-work.md)

These commands are for an operator: the person who looks after a running app.

| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
| [`jadpo flags`](/docs/jadpo-flags.md) | Change and remove flags. |
| [`jadpo schedules`](/docs/jadpo-schedules.md) | Watch and control schedules. |
| [`jadpo deliveries`](/docs/jadpo-deliveries.md) | Retry, dismiss or cancel deliveries. |

## [Commands for packages](/docs/commands-for-packages.md)

A package is code you install rather than write: a library, or a provider package that calls an outside service such as Stripe (External services).

| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
| [`jadpo package`](/docs/jadpo-package.md) | Show, check, import and install packages. |

## [Commands for services, calls, email and stored data](/docs/commands-for-services-calls-email-and-stored-data.md)

These commands show what your app sent outside while you develop it, the provider calls and the email, and check a deploy before it happens.

| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
| [`jadpo calls`](/docs/jadpo-calls.md) | Show provider calls in dev. |
| [`jadpo email`](/docs/jadpo-email.md) | Read the dev inbox and check mail. |
| [`jadpo runs`](/docs/jadpo-runs.md) | Check runs before a deploy. |

## [Commands for debugging, editors and help](/docs/commands-for-debugging-editors-and-help.md)

`jadpo why <schedule>` ends with the schedule's `.jadpo` place, and takes `--json` (Watching schedules).

| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
| [`jadpo why`](/docs/jadpo-why.md) | Explain why a schedule didn't run. |
| [`jadpo lsp`](/docs/jadpo-lsp.md) | Run the language server for editors. |

| [`jadpo version`](/docs/jadpo-version.md) | Print the version. |
| [`jadpo toolchain`](/docs/jadpo-toolchain.md) | Manage Jadpo releases. |
