# Ignoring a suggestion

When a finding is wrong for your code, keep it quiet with a reason:

```text
$ jadpo suggest ignore S1 "Basis points, not money"
✓ Ignored S1, Money conversion
  snippet  total_price * 100
  place    domains/shop/libraries/pricing.jadpo:6
  reason   Basis points, not money
```

This writes the snippet's canonical hash, its signal and the reason to
`ignored_suggestions.jadpo_record` at the project root. The file is
committed, so the whole team shares the ignores ([The
root](01-project-layout-and-modules.md#the-root) lists it, in [the record
format](18-records-and-manifest.md#the-record-format)):

```text
// Generated by Jadpo from the suggestions this project ignores; update it with `jadpo suggest ignore`, never by hand.
record ignored_suggestions 2
ignore 3f9a1c0e2b7d4a51 conversion Money "Basis points, not money"
```

The snippet, and every variant with the same canonical form, stays quiet
until its code changes. Each scan drops an entry no snippet has any more.
Ignoring also adds an `ignored` entry (the text, both hashes, the signal
and the reason) to `.jadpo/suggest_pending`. It sends nothing.
