# `PushToken`

A device's push notification token, from Apple's or Google's service, opaque. Personal data.

[Web and network](types.md#web-and-network); not ordered; personal data (online); since Jadpo 0.1.0.

## Make one

Build one from its text, `PushToken("740f4707bebcf74f9b7c25d48e3358945f6aa01da5ddb387462c7eaf61bb78ad")`, which checks it: text that isn't one breaks `format`.

`text.parse(raw, as: PushToken)` reads one from its text; text that isn't one at all fails `malformed`, such as `a token`, `token!` or `""`.

## Text, JSON and storage

`text.from` writes its canonical text, the one form `text.parse` reads back. JSON sends its canonical text as a string.

| Text | JSON |
|---|---|
| `740f4707bebcf74f9b7c25d48e3358945f6aa01da5ddb387462c7eaf61bb78ad` | `"740f4707bebcf74f9b7c25d48e3358945f6aa01da5ddb387462c7eaf61bb78ad"` |
| `bk3RNwTe3H0:CI2k_HHwgIpoDKCIZvvDMExUdFQ3P1` | `"bk3RNwTe3H0:CI2k_HHwgIpoDKCIZvvDMExUdFQ3P1"` |

It is stored in one column named for the field, of type `text`. `bk3RNwTe3H0:CI2k_HHwgIpoDKCIZvvDMExUdFQ3P1` is stored as `'bk3RNwTe3H0:CI2k_HHwgIpoDKCIZvvDMExUdFQ3P1'`.

## Shown to people

`text.format(value, locale:)` shows it to people in their locale.

With `locale: Locale.en_gb`:

| Value | Shown |
|---|---|
| `740f4707bebcf74f9b7c25d48e3358945f6aa01da5ddb387462c7eaf61bb78ad` | `740f4707bebcf74f9b7c25d48e3358945f6aa01da5ddb387462c7eaf61bb78ad` |
| `bk3RNwTe3H0:CI2k_HHwgIpoDKCIZvvDMExUdFQ3P1` | `bk3RNwTe3H0:CI2k_HHwgIpoDKCIZvvDMExUdFQ3P1` |

## Operations

It has the contract's own operations: `text.parse`, `text.from`, `text.format`, `json.read`, `json.write` and `==`. It isn't ordered, so `<` and sorting don't take it. [Every standard type meets one contract](../topics/every-standard-type-meets-one-contract.md) says how they work.
