# What an agent runs

Every command takes `--json`, and `jadpo help --json` describes them all
([Tools for agents](tools-for-agents.md)).

| Job | Command | Then |
|---|---|---|
| After any edit | `jadpo check --json` | Each error says who acts (`agent` or `human`) and the next command |
| A record is out of date | `jadpo records`, then the command it names (`jadpo api update`, `jadpo migrate new <purpose>` …) | Commit the record with the code |
| Rename anything | `jadpo rename <old> <new>` | The registry gains one line |
| What did my change do? | `jadpo approval --json` | Decisions first |
| A change needs a person | `jadpo acceptance new <purpose>` | Stop and hand over |
| Look something up | `jadpo inspect <name> --json` | One node from the manifest |
| Upgrade a package | `jadpo package update <name>` | Fix compile errors, then as above |
| Explain a production event | `jadpo incident <event>` | `jadpo test new --from-event` |
