Configure and deploy
Settings and secrets, then a native build or a Cloudflare Workers build. Read them in this order. Each page links to the pages around it.
- Settings: config.jadpo
A setting is a value that can differ between deployments, such as the database's address or the address emails are sent from.
- Secrets
A secret is a setting that must never leave the server, such as a password or an API key.
- Database and other connection URLs
A database or a cache takes its address from a setting.
- Values on your machine and in production
In production, values come from the platform's environment, or from its secret manager, which sets the same variables.
- Checking values before the app starts
Your app reads only the variables its settings declare.
- A native deployable
A deployable is one program your app is built into.
- Declared deployables
An app can be built into several programs, for example a Worker that serves its public API and a server that runs its back office.
- A Workers deployable
A deployable with
target: Target.wasmruns on Cloudflare Workers.
